A favorite way to see Georgetown is by boat. Tours will take you around Winyah Bay and surrounding rivers past plantation mansions and abandoned rice fields. Reachable only by boat, visit the island for shell collecting and a look at the North Island Lighthouse. Enjoy guided kayak tours of blackwater swamps, salt marsh creeks, and plantation canals with Black River Expeditions. The Bellefield Nature Center at Hobcaw Barony features aquariums and a salt water touch tank. Brookgreen Gardens displays outdoor sculpture in a beautiful garden setting along with a wildlife park.
