nown as the “Flowertown
in the Pines,”
Summerville draws
tourists in the spring
to enjoy millions of
spring blossoms,
particularly azaleas, in
private and public
gardens.

Azalea Park is
a twelve acre piece of
heaven with fountains,
ponds, walking paths,
bronze statues, gazebos,
and lots of azaleas. The
Flowertown Festival
draws over 250,000 visitors each April, and is the largest arts and crafts festival in South Carolina.
Sculpture in the South is held every May in Azalea Park. There is a permanent sculpture collection of over 19 pieces.
South Carolina's only Five-Star and Five-Diamond Hotel & Restaurant, Woodlands Inn, is located in Summerville. It is only one of only four such properties in the U.S to have earned this recognition.
The town square, beautifully landscaped with flowers, is the location for special celebrations on the Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas, when the square is lavishly decorated for the holidays.
The Atlantic Ocean is only thirty minutes away, with many beaches in the area. Forty golf courses are within an hour's drive of Summerville.
There are abundant housing choices, including Victorian cottages and plantation style homes.
A community orchestra and theater are also popular local attractions.
