And all that Jazz.
Sultry strings, matched by musical notes that flow from his instrument into your soul. Close your eyes and be transported into bliss.

Spoleto Festival
|
 |

elebrating 30-plus glorious years at home in the Carolinas, the Spoleto Festival features music, dance, theatre, opera and the visual arts.
Lasting 17 days and attracting aficionados from around the world, the Festival has seen the likes of Mikhail Baryshnikov, David Sedaris, The Urban Bush Women and Yo-Yo Ma – just to name a few.
Perfectly sited in Charleston, which is arguably the most European city in the United States, the glorious spring weather and blooming gardens seem a fitting foil for the assault on the senses occurring in May and June of each year.

here are performances on a smaller scale as well, with Piccolo Spoleto offering a companion festival of free or low-cost events held during Spoleto. As the only American arts festival hosted by an entire city, Spoleto hosts premieres of ground-breaking work, as well as perennial favorites and updated classics.
And, it’s not all high-brow, either. Puppets cavort across stages, a taste of American blues is present, and performances reflect arts and culture on a worldwide scale.

Maestro,
if you please! The opening ceremonies at the Spoleto Festival, held in front of the Old Exchange Building in Charleston, provide a taste of what the next
17 days will bring. Music, laughter, history -- it's all good.

Every year at Spoleto reveals talented artists and performers seldom seen in such a rich tapestry of sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and touch.
But be warned. Charleston fills up quickly, and many well-known performers guarantee sellouts. There’s enough remaining to soothe and stimulate, inspire and delight. Spoleto is worth the trip.
